1. Acceptance

By installing or using the Hannari browser extension (“Hannari”, “the Extension”), or by purchasing Hannari Pro, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not install or use Hannari.

2. What Hannari does

Hannari is a browser extension that adds furigana annotations to Japanese text on web pages. It is provided as a tool for personal study and reading.

3. Free and Pro versions

Hannari is offered in two tiers:

• Hannari Free: provides core furigana functionality at no cost.
• Hannari Pro: provides additional features in exchange for a one-time payment.

4. Pro license — “Lifetime” definition

When we describe Hannari Pro as a “lifetime” or “one-time payment” license, we mean:

• No recurring charges. You pay once and your license does not expire.
• Your license includes all Pro features available at the time of purchase.
• Your license includes future Pro features that do not require ongoing operational costs (for example, new UI improvements, new study features, additional language support).
• Future features that require recurring operational costs to deliver (for example, cloud-based AI services, server-side translations, synced cloud storage) may be offered as separate paid add-ons. Your existing license remains valid for everything it originally covered.

We commit to actively maintaining and updating Hannari for a minimum of three (3) years from your purchase date. After that period, we will continue maintenance for as long as reasonably possible. If Hannari is permanently discontinued, we will provide notice and the final version will remain functional for as long as your browser supports it.

5. Refunds

We offer a 14-day refund on Hannari Pro purchases, no questions asked. To request a refund, email hello@gethannari.com within 14 days of purchase with your license key. Refunds are processed by Lemon Squeezy and typically appear in 5-10 business days depending on your payment method.

6. License terms

Your Hannari Pro license is granted to you personally. You may:

• Use Hannari Pro on as many of your personal browsers and devices as you want.
• Reinstall after wiping or changing devices.

You may not:

• Share, sell, or transfer your license key to others.
• Attempt to circumvent license validation.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or distribute modified versions of the extension.

We reserve the right to deactivate licenses found to be shared, leaked publicly, or obtained fraudulently.

7. Acceptable use

Hannari is provided for personal use. You agree not to use Hannari:

• To violate any applicable law.
• In a way that disrupts the websites being annotated.
• For automated mass scraping or extraction of content.

8. Disclaimers

Hannari is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. We do our best to keep furigana annotations accurate, but:

• Japanese has ambiguous readings, context-dependent pronunciations, and rare characters. Some annotations may be incorrect.
• Hannari is a study aid, not a replacement for proper language instruction.
• We are not responsible for any consequences arising from using Hannari for translation, professional, or critical purposes.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim related to Hannari is limited to the amount you paid for your license (or zero, for free users).

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use occasionally. Material changes will be announced through the extension or via email to Pro users. Continued use of Hannari after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. Any disputes will be resolved in Brazilian courts, unless otherwise required by applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction.
